Aisling Bea
Aisling is a well-known Irish comedian who has been around for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. The comedian appeared alongside Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea first began her career in stand-up comedy in 2011 after playing small roles she appeared on Irish and British television dramas starting in 2009. As early as 2012 she was on sketch comedy shows or sitcoms. She began appearing regularly in panel shows following her win of an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She was a captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is a regular contestant in its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The actress is the child of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her sister, was also born. She was only the second ever female winner of So You Think You're Funny. Bea, her maiden name, pays tribute to her dad who died in the year 2000. Aisling O'Sullivan, also referred to as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. The father of her Brian was an equine veterinarian who took his own life when Bea was just three years old, though she did not know how he died until she was 13. Bea was her stage name. Bea is a tribute to her father. She wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience with suicide. Bea (and her sister Sinead) were brought up in a home by Helen Moloney who was a teacher and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. They were both passionate about horses, race meetings and the racing industry. As a young girl, Bea worked as a tour guide in the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she was not attracted to the race industry as a job, and was a performer.
